Professional Bio: 

Dr. Gray holds a BA in Economics and History from Trinity College Dublin as well as a MA and PhD in Economics from UC Davis. She specializes in economic history, looking at the effect of technological change on inequality and the status of different types of workers, as well as the effects of immigration on crime and the housing market. She has published papers in Explorations in Economic History and Oxford Economic Papers and has co-written a chapter for the forthcoming Oxford Handbook on U.S. Economic History with Carl Kitchens.

Area of Expertise: 

Economic historian specializing in the United States from 1880 to 1950, with a focus on labor markets, inequality, crime and the housing market. All of my work builds a long run perspective on current topical issues.
