Professional Bio:
I am an associate professor of History at UC Santa Cruz, specializing in modern Japan and East Asia. I am co-director of the Center for the Study of Pacific War Memories and Director of East Asian studies.
Area of Expertise:
I have expertise in digital humanities, modern East Asian history, public history and pedagogy. I combine these areas by leading ambitious collaborative research projects involving faculty, students and the general public in the US, Asia and the Pacific Islands.
