Clare Gupta

Professional Bio: 

Clare Gupta is an assistant Cooperative Extension specialist in the Community and Regional Development unit of the Department of Human Ecology, where she specializes in community food systems. She completed her Ph.D. in Environmental Studies, Policy and Management at UC Berkeley in 2012. Before joining the UC Davis faculty in 2015, she held an NSF-funded postdoctoral fellowship at Yale University, where she studied the political ecology of food and agriculture in the Hawaiian Islands.

Area of Expertise: 

My research expertise lies in the political ecology of community food systems. My research interests include: community resource planning and development, sustainable food systems, community food security, food politics, agro-food movements (e.g. local food, food sovereignty), and rural community wellbeing.
